Protomorphogens

When tissue is damaged, as in a heart attack, the proteins from the dead tissue leak into the bloodstream. Antibodies respond to these “foreign” antigens and the pet patient essentially becomes allergic to his own heart. This ultimately becomes an autoimmune disorder. Protomorphogens behave as “decoys” drawing auto-antibodies away from the heart, relieving the autoimmune attack and allowing the heart to heal.
