Norberto R. Keppe

In an effort to study and understand health, FAIM investigates all facets and traditions of healing. In this exploration, FAIM considers noteworthy the ideas of Norberto R. Keppe, founder of a movement that attempts to unify science, philosophy and theology (International Society of Analytical Trilogy).

In his analysis, medicine and religion were once part of the same domain. It is only with modernity that the different aspects of health were separated and became the prerogative of distinctive class of professionals: the body in the hands of doctors; the mind to the psychologists; and the spirit to the priests.

One must not be a fanatic to recognize the power and the role that faith and prayer has had on the perception of health and wellbeing. We need not mention the various faith-healing movements in history that are apparent onto this day with ubiquitous institutions like Christian Science.

FAIM is fascinated to look into all these facets of healing that are based on spiritual and religious ideas, like that of a higher being. Just to mention a few, from the sanctuary of Padre Pio in Italy, Lourdes in France, the pilgrimages of Santiago de Compostella or the Hajj, the venerable spiritual practices in Buddhism and Hinduism, to the Jain and Judaic traditions, FAIM tries to learn from all these perennial traditions which are directly associated with states of wellbeing and health.

FAIM does this by actively participating in rituals and practices and studying the teachings of so-called spiritual masters.

For example, FAIM has participated in Kundalini Yoga workshops in New Mexico, offered by the followers of the Sikh Master Yoghi Bhajan, who has never been reserved in his claims of the medical benefits of his teachings (see 3HO Foundation website).

Similarly, FAIM has participated in workshops offered by the modern day French guru Yvonne Trubert, founder of the Christian association Invitation to Life that promotes a Reiki-like practice called Harmonization. Through an exceptionally gentle and respectful sequence of movements, Harmonization progressively relaxes and relieves the body of the recipient. It claims to liberate tensions built up through stress, guilt or worry, to remove the state of suffering that prevents wellbeing.

This association has collected around itself a series of high caliber scientists and medical doctors who are tying this healing practice to the latest developments in quantum-physics and energy-medicine.

FAIM is also looking into an ancient Vedic ritual called Homa Therapy, taught by Gurudeva Shri Vasant, which is based on the practice of bio-energetic fires, tuned to the circadian rhythm of sunrise and sunset, and the successive ingestion of the leftover ashes (see his Homa Therapy website).

A medical clinic in Guayaquil, Ecuador, claims that it has successfully treated 24,000 patients with this therapy; patients who came from such poor neighborhoods that they would not have been able to afford continual treatments with conventional medicine.
