These rolls are amazingly soft, delicious. Make them with sifted, ancient flour for an amazing result both in texture, taste, and health benefits!
Sometimes it is just SOOO good with some nice carbs, and this is my absolute best form of consuming them. They taste amazing and are such a treat! I used sifted, ancient, organic dinkel-flour. I suppose they also taste amazing with cassava flour, which will make them gluten-free.
Using real ingredients with high nutritional value is an absolute must. Also, to have variation in your diet. In a normal, healthy diet - carbs are good. You just need to find a balance that works for you.
For one batch it made 20 rolls. Let`s see how to make these.
Ingredients:
- 900 gram sifted flour + about 50 grams to bake it out
- 50 gram dried yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
- 3 dl oat milk
- 3 dl water
- 75 gram butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey
How to:
- Melt the butter in a casserole.
- Add the oat milk and water. Normally I preheat the water in my kettle to 40°C.
- When the mix reaches body temperature, stir in the yeast until fully diluted.
- Add the honey and salt, and give it a stir.
- Get your mixer and a clean baking bowl and pour the mixture into the bowl.
- Use a kneading hook on your mixer.
- With the liquids in your bowl, turn on the machine and slowly add the flour. How much flour you need sometimes depends on the flour you use. But a good way to know when it's done is that the dough will be wrapped around the kneading hook, and not stick to the baking bowl. (if you don't have a mixer, you can knead the dough with your hands).
- When done add some more flour around the dough and let it rise under a towel for about 1 hour.
- After one hour it's time to make your rolls.
- Add some more flour to the dough and knead it out of the baking bowl.
- Spread some flour on your counter and roll out the dough. Divide the dough into 20 pieces.
- Make the rolls, and place them on a baking tray either with a non-stick paper or just grease the surface.
- Cover the rolls with a clean baking cloth, and let it rise once more for 30 minutes. This extra time to rise will make them extra airy and nice.
- Preheat your oven to 170°C, and use the hot air function. (If you don`t have that, just instead use 180°C.)
- Bake them in the middle of the oven for 30 minutes.
- Let them cool down a bit before you pull them apart and enjoy their amazingness!
They are amazing to have in the freezer, but you can also store them in a ziplock bag for a couple of days.
Good luck, and I hope this recipe will give you much joy.
