Following survey research of the various alternative health clinics in Germany, FAIM selected those standing out as exceptional. Selected clinics were visited personally in order to acquire, beyond technical details, our impression of the clinic and the people behind it. Those that FAIM considered exceptional and chose for on-site visits included Klinik im Leben (Greiz), and IOZK (Cologne).

Introduction to Klinik im Leben

Klinik im Leben is relatively small, unassuming hospital set in the beautiful landscape of Vogtland in Eastern Germany.

When arriving by train, one experiences the gradual progression of leaving the more populated areas behind, as cities and traffic give way to towns and green space. It seems a natural approach to this destination for health. If you arrive by plane, they will provide a shuttle service from surrounding areas and airports as far as Leipzig (140km) and Munich (345km).

Klinik im Leben, while technically a hospital, does not exude the sterile aura of a typical hospital. It appears rather as a small hotel, with, besides a separate diagnostics building and numerous treatment rooms, an onsite garden, apartments and a cafe for inpatients, and feels more like entering a large, welcoming old home, rather than a medical facility. Not only does this give a sense of comfort, but also practically means that all spaces offer a safe environment, free from toxic chemicals and EMF.

What makes it special?

Integration and a beautiful setting

One should not be fooled by the retreat-like atmosphere that this is merely a quiet space for relaxation. In fact, it is much more. It is, after all, a hospital. But it is not an ordinary hospital. It is one (successfully) seeking to integrate conventional and non-conventional medicine. It houses an impressive number of dedicated medical doctors, specialists, nurses, natural therapy specialists, psychologists and meditation instructors.

A tour of the institute reveals not only that the genuine feeling of wellness, care and dedication is pervasive, but also that the quality level is high. Equipment and treatment protocols are in place, and they possess state-of-the-art equipment and therapies, such as electro cancer therapy (ECT) and active high temperature therapy, to name only two.

Holistic step therapy

With the fundamental factors of quality and care in place, what truly makes Klinik im Leben stand out is its integrative biological medicine and dentistry.

A holistic, three step approach to healing is used: the treatment of the body, mind and soul.

A person's illness is treated using a variety of constellations of these three factors, based on the individual level of need.

Personalized diagnostics

To assess this level of need, extensive diagnostics are taken, which requires between 1-2 days to complete.

The diagnostic lab is separate from the treatment and patient rooms, and covers the body level (e.g., balance of the body's pH levels, immune system checks, personal metabolism and diet consultation), and mental/energetic levels (e.g., self-regulation, assessment of toxic agents in the body, level of motivation towards health, self-contemplation, kinesiology, biofeedback).

Through these diagnostics, a personalized profile and treatment plan is created.

A wide variety of treatments

The treatment plan selects from an array of conventional and non-conventional therapies, ranging from conventional medical treatment to reiki and meditation, depending on the individual profile. Some of the most noteworthy treatments used include:

  • Immune enhancers and tumor suppressors for cancer treatment
  • Active, high temperature therapy (through injection, the body produces its own fever, therefore increasing immune system function)
  • Electro cancer therapy (ECT): the electric frequency used attacks the cancer cells, not healthy cells
  • Whole body and localized hyperthermia, transurethral prostate hyperthermia
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Specialized diet recommendations for each individual's metabolism and health state (based on Mayr)

In action

The hospital offers a varied, committed team; holistic, personalized treatments; and creates an environment for true healing (nature, clean air, health nutrition, safe space).

The staff speaks German, English, Russian and Turkish, which opens their offering to a wide variety of international patients from all over the world.

The hospital and staff are constantly evolving, individually and as an institute, progressing with advancements in technology, holding various on-site activities and taking part regularly in conferences.

To help people understand more about their work, and how we can all learn to incorporate health into our life on all levels, they have recently published a book Say Yes to LIFE!.
