When craving something fried, but want something more healthy, these can be just what you need! These falafels are made with chickpeas, onion, garlic, spices and then fried in coconut oil.

Ingredients:

  • 175 g chickpeas
  • 100 g yellow onion
  • 6 g of garlic
  • 1 handful of fresh coriander 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp potato flour
  • 1 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 5-8 Tbsp of Graham flour (chickpea flour)

How to:

  1. Add everything, except the flour, into your food processor and mix until a smooth paste.
  2. Add the flour bit by bit until a firm dough.
  3. Add about 1 Tbsp of coconut oil into a frying pan. I like using my small iron pan.
  4. Make small balls of dough, and fry them. Let it firm a nice crust on both sides.
  5. Then let cool on a plate before serving them.

It's perfect making a whole batch of these if you have the time. Falafels can go in the freezer, or you can keep some in an airtight container for some days. Anytime you need a spicy, fried treat – these are delicious!
