Dr. Martin Goldstein, known in the pet health world as Dr. Marty, has been a leading integrative veterinarian for more than 45 years and has helped countless pet parents revitalize their pets’ health with his breakthrough raw diet method and unique approach to pet health care which combines conventional and alternative methods.
Dr. Marty Goldstein earned his DVM from Cornell University in 1973, was certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1977, and was one of the founding members of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.
He is the founder and former owner of Smith Ridge Veterinary Center in South Salem, NY, which specializes in the use of integrative medicine and complementary modalities for maintaining animal wellness and treating chronic and degenerative illnesses, especially cancer.
Dr. Marty has given seminars on alternative therapies nationwide and has appeared on numerous regional and national radio and television programs, including the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Martha Show and Good Morning America. He is also the author of “The Nature of Animal Healing,” first published in 1999. It received excellent reviews and has continued to sell consistently ever since. For 6 years, he hosted his own weekly program, “Ask Martha’s Vet with Dr Marty” on Martha Stewart’s Sirius/XM satellite radio network before the network was cancelled.
Dr. Marty retired from active veterinary practice in 2019. He continues to educate and lecture and is working on a second book.
Dr. Marty, his wife and three daughters share their lives with dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbit and chickens in a very happy home.
